It is bright, finely sculpted and chiseled throughout. This is an especially vibrant version of the Les Vignes de Vrigny, Egly-Ouriet’s 100% Pinot Meunier. Candied lemon, chamomile, dried pear, almonds, white flowers and mint are all nicely delineated. With time in the glass, the wine softens nicely through the mid-palate and finish. Classy and understated to the core, the Les Vignes de Vrigny is an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next few years. In this release, the Vignes de Vrigny is 50% 2011, 25% 2010, 25% 2009, aged in equal parts tank and neutral oak.
